Just picture, if you will, a county where people are genuinely excited about where they live, work, play and learn. Where people from all backgrounds enjoy the mild climate, a healthy economy and, whenever possible, the sandy beach, tranquil countryside and well-maintained greens. Craven County is that county!
Craven County is a great place to do business. Local leaders go out of their way to ensure that new and existing industry has the ability to grow and prosper. Craven County is prepared to listen to businesses and develop unique methods to meet your special needs.
What else makes this area so attractive? Friendly neighborhoods with attractive housing in every price range, from a unique waterfront residence to an affordable starter home. Our workforce is another important reason many consider Craven County. Companies can choose from our regional labor pool that is within easy commuting distance of the County's business centers. Those disciplined and trained within the military that may be exiting is also an additional advantage. Craven County has easy access to three major military installations.
Craven County really does work. When people are happy and like their environment, they produce an undercurrent of pride that bolsters our workers. They are dedicated and hardworking, and their productivity level, among other things, may be the most telling statistic of all. The state offers programs for worker training, especially free skills training of new and expanding industries, through our community college campus in Havelock and New Bern.
First-class education is available in the County at every level, from pre-kindergarten through college or vocational-technical schools. We are proud of the recent accomplishments within our school system. With a comprehensive strategic plan focused on Baldridge Criteria, we are taking process improvements to levels few school systems in the nation are considering.
Prime Greenfield sites are available at both the Havelock Business Park and Craven County Industrial Park, in addition to many other potential sites across Craven County. All necessary infrastructures are in place, including ample power capacity at attractive rates.
